After a long battle with cancer, Patsy left us for Heaven at about 10PM on Christmas Day.  For all of us, it was too soon.  Patsy is dearly loved by her family and many friends.  But the last few months became increasingly hard.  Eddie, Theresa and Melissa were with her in those final moments, telling her of their love and gratitude for her self-less life.  She passed over into God’s presence, and all of us are confident that she was welcomed by name.  “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

She was a faithful partner to Eddie for more than forty years.  Their three children, Melissa, Theresa and Eddie, their spouses and all their children knew Patsy as Mom and Grandma.  Her brothers and sisters all rallied around her these past few weeks.  Her many friends continued to pray, and express their concern and love.  Her doctors ordered hospice care; Patsy and the family received first rate support.

Plans are not yet finalized for a Memorial service.  You can check this site for detail when it becomes available.

The family expressed their deep appreciation for the many cards and letters and visits – and mostly the prayers that helped the family stay strong.

If you would like to express an encouraging word, or a story regarding Patsy, you may leave it here as a comment.  We’ll be sure it gets passed along to the family.

Patsy had a hard night last night.  The nurse is working with her to help her get more comfortable as I write.

Since the weekend, several people have been by to see Patsy.  She has spoken briefly with them, hearing the encouragement and prayers.  The home care bed was delivered and installed.   Patsy’s appetite is diminished, but she eats small amounts throughout the day.

Pray for Eddie, too.  He’s now officially on “Family Leave” and will remain by Patsy’s side.  Both Theresa and Melissa continue their employment; before and after work, and in between too, they are there to provide help and care.  Meals have been delivered for the family.

This will be a different kind of Christmas day for the extended Ormonde family.   We will keep them all in our prayers.

Friday was a good day.  Patsy woke up feeling better, and wanted a full breakfast, including bacon and eggs.  She sat up on the couch in the living room and interacted with her family.  Doctors and nurses have been responsive in helping with medications and pain management.

She spoke of God’s sustaining power and peace. Patsy wants me to tell you how grateful she is for your prayersd.

Saturday was hard.  A RN made a home visit and gave clear instructions for medication.  A home care bed was ordered and should be delivered this afternoon.  It should give Pasty some relief.

Leave your message in a comment.  She’ll be happy to hear from you.

Thank you.

Thank you for visiting this blog site for Patsy Ormonde.

She wants you to know how grateful she is for your prayers.

Patsy feels stronger today after a difficult weekend.  Her physical therapist assisted today in strengthening her knee, as she continues to recover from surgery.  She is sitting up, enjoying light meals, and getting around the house with a walker.

Eddie is home with her today.  She has good care.

Please leave your comments. They will be a great encouragement to Patsy and the whole family.
